Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Romania

The Workers Romania Association avails itself of this opportunity to present to you its highest consideration.

We are writing these lines to let you know that we are following with great sadness the events, as they take place in the occupied territories and we reject the murder of Palestinian citizens by the Israeli army in Gaza.

We denounce the bombings against the people of Palestine. In the bombed zones there is no water, no food, no electricity, and that might be called a crime against humanity.

The Israeli people, for whom we have a great respect, went through the painful experience of Shoah and the Romanians had come to the rescue of many oppressed Jewish families after 1940, in the North-Western part of Romania, which was than under the Horthyist scourge. In the name of humanity and bearing in mind what the Romanians had done to save the Jews, we kindly ask you to rethink your gestures against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

We support the right of the people of Palestine to their sovereignty and we stand united against any kind of oppression or genocide.

We also demand the return of thousands of refugees to their homeland.
